News Highlights:
Ride Calendar Updates –  With shorter days approaching — and we hope cooler weather — the start time for all rides in September will move back one hour to 9:00AM.  As always, please arrive in plenty of time to get your bike and yourself ready to roll out of the parking lot by that time.
Club Happy Hour – Join us at CBC sponsor’s Random Row Brewing from 4:30-6:30p on September 18 for the next club happy hour. Â Member discounts available.
VDOT Roundabout in Orange County – VDOT is constructing a new roundabout at the eastern intersection of U.S 33 (Spotswood Trail) and Route 20 (Constitution Highway) in Orange County. As a result of this change, we will not be able to cross U.S. 33 on Old Barboursville Road in either direction. All of our routes that are impacted by this construction have been changed to accomodate this restriction.
Harvest Hundred – Potomac Pedalers of greater Washington DC is hosting the Harvest Hundred on September 21.  All are invited to participate.  Three routes (a century, a metric, and a 40-mile spin) will start and finish at Barrel Oak Winery, Delaplane, VA. Registration includes a BBQ lunch and participation in a giveaway of wine and bike accessories. Registration can be found here: https://potomacpedalers.org/harvest_hundred.  A limited number of scholarships to cover the registration fee is available thanks to the generosity of Kaiser Permanente. Just email the Pedalers at pptc.harvesthundred@gmail.com.Â
Tour de Greene – This year’s ever-popular Tour de Greene is scheduled for Saturday, October 11.  There will be three great paved routes, great food, and great company, hosted by our friends north of Charlottesville. You can register here.
Kids’ Bikes for Community Bikes – Have a kid’s bike that is looking for a good home? Â Charlottesville Community Bikes recently announced a need to replenish their stock of bikes for our younger riders, after back-to-school shoppers picked up available bikes. Â Help our local kids find bikes by donating to non-profit CCB.
Cville E-bike Voucher Program – The City of Charlottesville is running a pilot program that offers $1,000 vouchers for qualified e-bikes from participating local dealers to 25 people selected by lottery each quarter. Â The program is open to any Charlottesville resident 18 years of age or older. Â Click here for details.
