Description: This route is a variation of the 40 mile Orange – Gordonsville route from Barboursville; this excludes the out and back from Barboursville to Somerset. The clockwise route begins with a modest climb out of Gordonsville and continues past Montpelier (the home of James and Dolly Madison) and through Orange. The counterclockwise route takes you through Orange before Montpelier and the final descent into Gordonsville.
