SUMMARY:Rapidan - Clark's Mountain (40\, A / B\, MH)
DESCRIPTION:This ride surveys the Rapidan River – Clark Mountain Rural Historic District\, which includes some of the most beautiful farmland in Orange and southern Culpeper Counties. The route passes through the town of Rapidan\, where there are well-preserved examples of the 19th century Carpenter Gothic style of architecture\, and follows the Rapidan River for some 8 miles of easy riding. DESCRIPTION:This is a pleasant ride in varied terrain. Very early in the route there is a short steep descent at mile 1.5 on Jones Mill Rd and then at mile 1.9 a steep climb. Look for the Monastery at mile 17.5 on Clark Rd\, home of the “Cheese Nuns”.  At mile 23.3 there is a 1.2 mile climb on Tilman Rd. (paved).
