SUMMARY:Schuyler – Rockfish (38 / 49\, A / B\, MH)
DESCRIPTION:From the Crossroads Store\, this modestly hilly ride heads south to Alberene then into eastern Nelson County to the Rockfish area. The next stretch is an out-and-back along 5 miles of the Rockfish River on one of the flattest stretches of road in the area\, followed by a climb up to the village of Schuyler before finishing with 15 miles of rolling terrain back to the starting point. SUMMARY:Afton - Sherando - Waynesboro (57\, A / B\, H)
DESCRIPTION:This challenging\, highly scenic ride includes a modest climb immediately after the start\, then a long climb up to Afton village and on to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway climbs for much of the next 10 miles to Raven’s Roost (be sure to stop for the view) and continues on to Love Gap. It then descends into the Shenandoah Valley to Sherando and on into Waynesboro. A moderately long climb takes you back to the Parkway\, then the route heads back down through Afton village and back to the start. \nStores: Mile 24 (Love Gap; on the left at the beginning of the descent); mile 30 approx. (Sherando) \nAlerts:\n1. 1.3 mile stretch on US 250 from Afton village at mile 7 up to the Parkway has moderate\, fast traffic.\n2.
