DESCRIPTION:This modestly hilly ride covers much of the Earlysville area. The medium and long routes include a nice climb up Bacon Hollow\, which is famous for its moonshine operations during the Prohibition era (a local winery produces a wine called Bacon Hollow Revenuers’ Select White). \nStores: Mile 25 / 25 (Dyke) \nAlerts:  The out and back section on the medium (35 mile) and long (42 mile) routes up Bacon Hollow Road (mile 15 to 21) is well-known for dogs that sometimes get out in the road. SUMMARY:Rapidan - Clark's Mountain (40\, A / B\, MH)
DESCRIPTION:This ride surveys the Rapidan River – Clark Mountain Rural Historic District\, which includes some of the most beautiful farmland in Orange and southern Culpeper Counties. The route passes through the town of Rapidan\, where there are well-preserved examples of the 19th century Carpenter Gothic style of architecture\, and follows the Rapidan River for some 8 miles of easy riding.
